Job Description

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect based in Columbus, OH. This position is designed for a leader of design & technical excellence who is driven by a passion for delivering quality work, mentoring staff, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.

As a Senior Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding, design-driven projects, you will lead interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen, you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction.

You are a team leader and will have the opportunity to lead not only from a project perspective, but from a practice and culture standpoint. The right person will be an integral part of our architecture practice in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects in partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager.
  • Support the pursuit of exciting new projects.
  • Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools.
  • Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems.
  • Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects.
  • Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants.
  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.
  • Provide quality control reviews of projects in the studio.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Architecture plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Licensed as a registered architect.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.
  • Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment.
  • Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000.
