Position Overview

Behavioral Health is to improve, advance, and innovate behavioral healthcare and foster resilience in our patients and our communities. Our emphasis across conditions is on delivery and development of empirically supported treatments and approaches. Area of specialization for these positions is open; we are particularly interested in candidates with clinical and/or research expertise in areas for strategic investment that complement our existing strengths in Womens Behavioral Health, OCD/Anxiety Disorders, and ADHD assessment and treatment.
We also welcome candidates with interests that align with our programs of distinction in Psychosis, Depression Recovery, Addiction, Gero/Neuropsychology, and Suicide/Trauma. The successful candidate will work within our interdisciplinary clinics in the Department of Psychiatry amp;
Behavioral Health and OSUWMC, directing and/or providing care in a manner consistent with the privileges granted them by the governing body of University Hospitals and as approved by the University Board of Trustees.
The successful candidates will join a 65+-member Section of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry amp;
Behavioral Health. Our Section offers robust training opportunities, including externship experiences, psychology pre-doctoral internship, and several fellowship programs. Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission patient care, education, and clinical research. The psychologist will provide clinical evaluation and assessment, as well as individual and/or group psychotherapy. This requires thorough knowledge of the DSM-5 and mental health diagnoses within the ICD-10. The individuals selected for these positions will have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits.
Other duties include but are not limited to representing the program or Department by participating in committees, conferences, and representing OSU at professional meetings and community speaking engagements. The psychologist is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.
Doctoral Degree in Psychology. Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Ohio. Applicants must be from an APA- or CPA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctoral program (with an accredited clinical internship) and be licensed in Ohio by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with previous training or experience in an academic medical center and those with at least one year of relevant post-doctoral experience.
The psychologist must be competent in technical clinical skills and must possess the cognitive and interpersonal skills required to participate in our academic community and to serve patients receiving the above-mentioned services.
