Physician Research Scientist – Department of Emergency Medicine, Clinician Scientist (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center.

We seek an emergency physician clinician scientist to advance clinical research, education, and patient care within our Department of Emergency Medicine. The role combines clinical responsibilities in emergency and advanced urgent care settings with scholarly inquiry, grant writing, and mentorship of trainees.

• Conduct original research in emergency medicine related to patient outcomes, translational science, or telemedicine.
• Seek and sustain extramural funding such as NIH or equivalent.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Participate in departmental committees, professional societies, and community outreach.
• Provide clinical care in OSUWMC emergency departments and advanced urgent care centers.
• Involve in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows.

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; board certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Licensed or license‑eligible in Ohio.
• Minimum five years of post‑residency clinical experience.
• Demonstrated research experience with publications; national recognition desirable.
• Prior NIH or equivalent grant activity preferred.
• Graduate‑level research training (Master’s or PhD) is highly advantageous.
