Overview

The Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) seeks two Cardiac Intensivists, at any academic rank, to join its growing and dynamic program. Candidates must have completed fellowship training in pediatric cardiology and/or critical care that included advanced cardiac intensive care training. Preference will be given to those who are board‑certified in pediatric cardiology and are interested in an academic center with research and leadership opportunities for professional growth.

The successful applicant will join a team of ten multidisciplinary academic cardiac intensivists and twelve dedicated nurse practitioners devoted to the CTICU, providing 24/7 in‑house coverage. Our 20‑bed, free‑standing CTICU sees over 600 admissions per year, with the Heart Center offering hybrid palliation, comprehensive single ventricle program, thoracic organ transplantation, blood conservation strategies, and cardiac mechanical support.

Our program embraces a culture of patient safety, quality, transparency, value‑based care, public health awareness, and excellence in education. We partner closely with the Center for Cardiovascular Research at the NCH‑Research Institute and the Congenital Heart Collaborative, offering robust opportunities in basic science, clinical, translational, population‑based research, and quality improvement initiatives.
