Position OverviewThe Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is actively growing and recruiting a highly motivated addiction psychiatrist committed to excellence in clinical care and a career in academic psychiatry. The successful candidate will lead an inpatient dual diagnosis service, with opportunities for partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. The role supports interdisciplinary programs in the Department.
Department/ Division Overview
Our section consists of over 50 members in Psychiatry & Behavioral Health. The hospital has 84 inpatient adult psychiatric beds, 25 withdrawal management beds, 15 residential SUD beds, and an emergency service that sees over 8,000 consults per year. We have expanding partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs and a residency program in general psychiatry with plans for fellowship expansion.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesFaculty responsibilities align with patient care, education, and clinical research. Key duties include:
- Provide patient care in inpatient, partial hospital, outpatient, and intensive outpatient settings.
- Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and students.
- Conduct clinical research and scholarship in addiction psychiatry.
- Serve on departmental and university committees, presenting at professional meetings and community engagements.
- Adhere to medical center policies, procedures, protocols, and key performance metrics.
- MD or DO;
- Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program;
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry;
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine;
- Eligible for an Ohio Medical License.
