** Position Overview
** The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a neurovascular/stroke Faculty to join the Department of Neurology. The candidate will be a fellowship-trained neurovascular/stroke neurologist and eligible for board certifications. The candidate will join a clinical team of 16 stroke and neurocritical care faculty as well as 9 neurovascular-trained APPs.
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Stroke Center is nationally and locally recognized for its excellence in stroke care. The comprehensive stroke center is a major referral center for stroke patients within central Ohio. The comprehensive stroke center has an associated large telestroke network covering a major part of central Ohio. The Ohio State University Stroke center is part of the NINDS Stroke Net for stroke clinical trials, and it is a major contributor to stroke studies.

Clinical activities include staffing the primary neurovascular service, neurovascular consultation service, telestroke service and the telestroke follow up service. Candidates are also expected to spend a portion of their professional time staffing the outpatient neurovascular clinic. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity. Candidates with research experience are encouraged to apply. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
** Department/Division Overview
** The Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver unparalleled subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 state-of-the-art ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 groundbreaking multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, 2 neurocritical care units (a 30-bed neurocritical care unit in University Hospital/new tower, and a 12-bed critical care unit combined with surgical critical care in The James Cancer Hospital), a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding tele-neurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals.
Our telestroke network is among the largest in the nation, encompassing 32 affiliated hospitals. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology is at the forefront of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders. Our fundamental research portfolio focuses on neurogenetics, neuroimmunology and neurodegenerative medicine. Our pioneering Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience are trailblazers in the field.
This year alone, our faculty conducted over 320 clinical trials and studies, supported by a cutting-edge biorepository and brain bank. We're equally committed to education, offering 10 prestigious clinical fellowships and international training opportunities through the OSU Global Neurology Initiative, with partner programs in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. ** Duties and Responsibilities
*** Evaluation and treatment of patients with neurovascular disorders.
* Staffing the neurovascular primary and consultation services.
* Staffing the telestroke network.
* Staffing outpatient neurovascular clinics.
* Supervising trainees in neurovascular disorders assessments – including medical students, residents and fellows
* Develop partnerships with referring physicians and hospitals in the community
* Clinical and some didactic teaching is expected
** Requirements
* ** MD or equivalent
* Completed 1 or more years of neurovascular fellowship training by the time of joining this role.
* ABPN neurology board certified or eligible to be certified within two years of the end of neurology training.
* ABPN neurovascular board eligible by the end of their neurovascular fellowship training.
