Position OverviewThe Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE physiatrist for an outpatient position with unlimited potential for growth. The ideal candidate would be proficient in electrodiagnostic medicine as well as skilled in musculoskeletal medicine including ultrasound guided peripheral interventions. Department/DivisionOverview
Outpatient services are provided at our west campus Martha Morehouse Outpatient Care Center and our Comprehensive Spine Center located at Outpatient Carepoint East and Outpatient Care Dublin. Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department is ranked #1 in Columbus and #37 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Newsweek has ranked Ohio State Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital as #1 in Ohio.
Additionally, our residency program is ranked 24th through Doximity Residency Navigator.
Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission – patient care, education, and clinical research. The physiatrist will perform electrodiagnostic (EMG) procedures and may also provide a comprehensive evaluation of patients for musculoskeletal complaints. The individual selected for this position will have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. Other duties include but are not limited to representing the program or Department by participating in committees, conferences, and representing OSU at professional meetings and community speaking engagements.
The physiatrist is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.
- MD or DO
- Successful completion of an accredited PM&R Residency Program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
- Additional EMG Board Eligible and/or Certified Preferred
- Eligible for an Ohio Medical License

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms.
Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.
Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching.
Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.
Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
