Overview
Physician OBGyn Section Chief Complex Family Planning Specialist (Open Rank/Track Faculty) role at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. This is a leadership position to lead the Complex Family Planning (CFP) program within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Position OverviewThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a Complex Family Planning Section Chief. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the CFP program and expand the Department’s clinical and research expertise. Ideal candidates are board-certified or eligible physicians with fellowship training in complex family planning or equivalent experience who are interested in a leadership position within an academic Department.
Responsibilities- Lead the Complex Family Planning program within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Supervise a resident family planning rotation including an early pregnancy management clinic, a dedicated contraception clinic, and operative experience at an ambulatory surgical facility.
- Participate in a well-established faculty practice, attend on the gynecology teaching service, and contribute to medical student education.
- Engage in research opportunities, including collaboration with the College of Public Health and the department’s reproductive epidemiologist.
Family Planning faculty currently supervise a resident family planning rotation, participate in a faculty practice, teach on the gynecology service, and contribute to medical student education. The CFP program aims to expand clinical and research capabilities within the department.
Requirements- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency training program.
- Ability to obtain and hold licensure to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board.
- Current registration with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration).
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Includes assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. Focus is on delivering clinical care, with potential for teaching and/or research. Not tenure-track; terms typically 3 to 5 years, with possible reappointment.
- Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Includes assistant, associate, or professor eligible for or holding tenure. Primary focus on research, service, and teaching; clinical care may be involved for MD/DO holders.
- Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Includes research-focused titles. Not tenure-track; terms 1 to 5 years; primary focus is research.
