The Ohio State University College of Medicine is initiating an open rank search for outstanding scientists for tenure‑track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. The department offers a highly collaborative research and educational environment with strengths in cell signaling, cytoskeletal actin/myosin function, regulation of ion fluxes, striated muscle structure and function, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic function, inflammation, and lung pathobiology.
Candidates with expertise in skeletal muscle, pulmonary, or cardiac physiology will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Conduct basic and/or translational research and secure independent, extramural funding.
- Develop and maintain a dynamic, innovative independent research program.
- Foster collaborations with existing departmental and/or cross‑disciplinary programs.
- Provide graduate, undergraduate, and professional student teaching, with an emphasis on excellence at all levels.
- Fulfill service commitments to the department, college, and university.
- Participate in clinical activities if holding an MD or MD/PhD, as required by department scope.
Qualifications
- Ph.D., D.V.M. or M.D. degree (or equivalent terminal degree).
- Demonstrated scholarly productivity and a strong history of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Evidence of potential for an externally funded, independent research program (e.g., transition‑to‑faculty grants or established investigator funding).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teaching experience and record of teaching effectiveness.
