Post Doctoral Scholar## Department:

Arts and Sciences | Physics Administration The von Hoegen Research Group invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position that will be based at the The Physics Research Building at The Ohio State University. The group is involved in several projects concerning ultrafast spectroscopy of quantum materials, including THz microscopy and pump-probe spectroscopy. The Post Doctoral Scholar will take a leading role in the construction and operation of a novel THz microscope for the investigation of two-dimensional quantum materials.

This is a term position for 0.5 years and is renewable based on performance and availability of funds.
** Required

Education:

*** Doctorate (Academic) with a Major in physics, materials science or related fields
*
* Required Qualifications:

*** Ph.D. in physics, materials science or related fields by the time of appointment.
* Demonstrated record of accomplishments in photonics research
* Experience in operating and maintaining ultrafast, intense laser sources
* Experience in performing and leading experimental campaigns
*
* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Experience with long-wavelength IR light
* Experience with setting up and implementing ultras fast optical spectroscopy system
* Experience developing a Python-based laboratory control and data-acquisition infrastructure## Additional Information:
