Open Faculty Search – Tenure Track – Physiology and Cell Biology (Open)

Position at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in the Department of Physiology & Cell Biology.

Position Summary

We are seeking outstanding scientists for tenure‑track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. This role offers a collaborative research and educational environment with strengths in cell signaling, muscle physiology, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic function, inflammation, and lung pathobiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an independent research program with a strong focus on basic and/or translational research.
  • Publish and present research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Establish collaborative research relationships with existing departmental programs.
  • Teach undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, with emphasis on excellence at all levels.
  • Participate in departmental service activities, including curriculum development and committee service.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated scholarly productivity and evidence of a successful record of grant funding or strong potential for future extramural funding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with teaching experience preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of the College of Medicine and the Ohio State University.
Preferred but Not Required
  • Current extramural funding (e.g., transition‑to‑faculty grants).
  • Research in skeletal muscle, pulmonary, or cardiac physiology.
  • Experience with innovative interdisciplinary collaborations.
