Job SummaryUnder limited supervision, Test Proctor responsibilities include welcoming and checking in test candidates, verifying , administering a variety of exams, monitoring candidates during testing, and maintaining a secure and courteous testing environment.
Shift Schedule- Morning Shift: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM;
Friday 8:00 AM–12:30 PM - Afternoon Shift: Monday–Thursday 2:00 PM–8:00 PM;
Friday 12:30 PM–5:00 PM
During finals, the facility closes at 9:00 PM; during inter‑semester periods it closes at 5:00 PM.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent organizational, detail‑oriented, and reliable skills
- Communicate effectively, both oral and written, with students, faculty, and staff
- Establish rapport with a diverse range of people
- Follow written and oral instructions effectively
- Anticipate needs and manage time wisely
- Manage conflict calmly and effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office methods
- Familiar with College policies, procedures, and information systems
- Greet testers and verify
- Provide test instructions, seat candidates, and start exams
- Proctor tests, including monitoring candidates via video surveillance
- Maintain cleanliness of testing areas
- Handle phone calls and office equipment
- Protect confidential information and operate electronic mail systems
- Organize and file test materials in paper and electronic formats
- Look up student information in the College Information System (Banner)
- Enforce policies and procedures firmly and courteously
- Provide accurate, consistent, and clear information
- Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors
- Assist departmental personnel with other duties as needed
- Work effectively with all groups, including those with disabilities
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 Year of College experience
- 1 Year office, reception, or customer service experience
- Experience working with confidential information
- Familiarity with SLCC is a plus
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check.
