The Ohio School for the Deaf (OSD) is one of the oldest continuously open public deaf schools in the United States. We welcome approximately 150 Deaf and hard of hearing students to campus each year from around Ohio. We use Expanded Common Core in our classrooms and offer students opportunities to learn and grow socially and emotionally in a safe environment through extra-curricular activities.
Job Description
Purpose:
Substitute for permanent teacher.
- Instructs, follows lesson plans, and assesses student knowledge on behalf of the permanent teacher;
- Maintains a well-structured educational environment;
- Monitors students when needed;
- Maintains professional licensure and development;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsMust maintain valid Ohio substitute teacher license or higher.
Must demonstrate Advanced level on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) within one year of hire, Intermediate level minimum for hiring.
