Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Associate and Assistant Deans to design and manage systems for student and course evaluation.
  • Oversee the planning and administration of assessments, including exams, quizzes, and assignments, ensuring compliance with academic policies.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative assessment strategies and tools.
  • Partner with Faculty Affairs to provide training and development for faculty and staff on evaluation methods and technologies.
  • Manage educational databases, question banks, and digital assessment platforms.
  • Advise faculty on grading policies and assist in the development of assessments aligned with program objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to college leadership on educational technology initiatives.
  • Conduct data analysis and prepare reports to support accreditation and outcomes assessment.
  • Track and report on student competencies, board examination performance, and other key metrics.
  • Maintain academic performance databases and generate reports for leadership decision‑making.
  • Develop systems to facilitate data‑driven evaluation across academic programs.
  • Serve as a non‑voting member of the DDS and Dental Hygiene curriculum committees.
  • Build collaborative relationships with faculty, IT, student services, and external partners.
  • Deliver workshops and individual consultations to support faculty in enhancing instructional practices.
  • Provide guidance on accessible and inclusive course design; support integration of active learning strategies and evidence‑based pedagogy.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional design, learning science, and educational technology.
  • Pilot and evaluate new tools and approaches to improve teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities related to instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Assist faculty in developing rubrics and evaluation tools.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design instructional materials for in‑person, hybrid, clinical, and pre‑clinical courses.
  • Ensure alignment of course content with learning objectives, accreditation standards, and institutional goals.
  • Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Backward Design) to guide course development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic goals of the College of Dentistry.
Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and 4 years’ experience in program planning, implementation, and administration.

Desired: Master’s degree and experience in academic program administration, preferably in dental or health sciences education. Experience in instructional design including:

  • Proficiency with web‑based data systems and assessment platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data reporting and evaluation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and manage complex projects.
  • Familiarity with competency‑based education and accreditation standards (e.g., CODA).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to function in a general office environment.

Targeted Hiring Pay Range: $51,500.00 - $67,250.00 based on education and experience.

This position requires successful completion of a background check and drug & alcohol screening.

Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
