Sign On Bonus for Full Time Teaching Staff:
$250 after 90 days, $750 after 6 months of employment.
- Think, communicate, and behave as a cause-driven leader and role model for staff and members.
- Promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity in the classroom, staff/program meetings, trainings, and with any partners of the YMCA Head Start program.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the YMCA and Head Start Codes of Conduct.
- Monitor professional development goals and complete the required annual training hours.
- Assist with implementing the program in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and YMCA policy and philosophy.
- Complete duties required by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Maintain prompt hours and follow absence procedures.
- May be assigned additional duties based on program needs and areas of developing expertise.
- Collaborate with other content areas to meet the needs of children and families.
- Establish working knowledge of initial assessments, observations, and curriculum planning.
- Participate in preparing classroom materials to support lesson plans and modify learning centers as needed.
- Help plan and initiate meaningful learning activities as part of the teaching team.
- Promote positive teacher-child interactions by offering appropriate affection, verbal praise, and acceptance while setting clear expectations for behavior.
- Work regularly with the teaching team to complete tasks accurately and timely, including designating roles and responsibilities.
- Maintain awareness of the needs of children and families in the program.
- Keep the learning environment clean and organized.
- Model healthy eating practices and family-style meals to support CACFP programming.
- Collect, record, and maintain required information and documentation.
- Monitor attendance throughout the day.
- Complete CACFP forms accurately.
- Submit monthly reports as prescribed by the Center Manager.
- Review and collect In-Kind forms.
- Identify supplies and materials needed for the class or center and submit requests to the Center Manager.
- Build rapport with families through positive, professional interactions.
- Attend home visits and parent-teacher conferences with other teaching staff.
- Develop and provide consistent routines and transitions throughout each day.
- Actively supervise indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining ratio requirements.
- Ensure each child is within sight, sound, and accounted for at all times.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
