Position SummaryUndergraduate Academic Advisor 1 to provide and document one on one advice to undergraduate students regarding degree and program options, academic standards, general education, prerequisite requirements, and major courses for specific degrees.
Responsibilities- Consults and/or elevates outstanding matters that students may have to staff that are more senior.
- Advises students’ dealing with academic, probationary, and financial concerns.
- Reviews and processes add/drop withdrawals and program changes.
- Acquires information for students, including academic, career, financial, psychological, etc., resources.
- Assists and participates in student orientation.
- Prepares packets for orientation sessions and presents orientation materials.
- Assists with teaching the student survey course.
- Utilizes established materials with few alterations to convey content effectively.
- Attends training and grades course assignments.
- Works on assigned advising projects.
- Performs administrative tasks to support counseling-related functions assigned by Director, which includes performing other duties as assigned.
- Identifies opportunities for projects and recommends to management.
- Engages in professional development, participates in unit and university-level opportunities.
- Master's Degree.
- 0 years of relevant experience required.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
