THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client, a premier data center developer with a 20+ year track record of delivering best-in‑class hyperscale and enterprise facilities, is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to join their high‑performing technical team during an unprecedented growth phase.

With $3+ billion currently under construction and an expanding pipeline of projects across multiple states, this role offers the rare opportunity to shape the technical foundation of hyperscale data center development while working directly with industry veterans and company leadership.

THE ROLE

The MEP Manager will provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for multiple simultaneous hyperscale data center projects, including:

Technical Leadership

• Direct and manage consulting engineering teams across multiple projects
• Oversee MEP design development and construction documentation
• Review and approve technical specifications for compliance with client requirements
• Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize performance and cost‑effectiveness

Project Execution

• Serve as technical expert for MEP systems throughout project lifecycle
• Resolve complex technical challenges through risk‑based decision‑making
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning agents
• Ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with overall facility design

Client & Stakeholder Interface

• Act as technical point of contact for hyperscale clients on MEP matters
• Participate in design reviews and client coordination meetings
• Translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Build and maintain equipment supplier relationships

Innovation & Strategy

• Research emerging technologies in data center mechanical and electrical systems
• Evaluate new cooling technologies, heat exchangers, and efficiency improvements
• Contribute to R&D initiatives for next‑generation facility design

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience & Background:

• 7-12 years in MEP engineering and project management
• Deep expertise in data center mechanical and electrical systems
• Proven track record managing consulting engineers and technical teams
• Hyperscale or mission‑critical facility development experience
• Consulting engineering firm background strongly preferred
• Understanding of both mechanical and electrical disciplines

Technical Excellence:

• Advanced knowledge of data center cooling systems (air‑cooled, liquid‑cooled, hybrid)
• Expertise in electrical distribution, backup power, and switch gear
• Understanding of commissioning processes and operational readiness
• Familiarity with industry standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE)
• Design review, constructability analysis, and risk assessment capabilities
• Exceptional communication skills with client‑facing confidence
• Proactive and self‑directed with strong ownership mentality
