Job Overview

Our client is looking to hire a Structural Engineer for an immediate need. Candidates must be local to Columbus, Ohio. This is an onsite position; remote or hybrid is not an option.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis and designs of commercial and residential building projects, telecommunications structures and other types of structures.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations by hand or using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Enercalc, Bentley System programs, and other finite element analysis software.
  • Develop deliverables such as structural design drawings and calculations packages using Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Revit, and other computer software.
  • Assist in the development of engineering tools to effectively manage the analysis and design process.
  • Visit job sites to observe construction work or gather field data for renovation projects.
  • Effectively interact with clients to monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Document accurate analysis results and prepare reports and letters for delivery to the client.
  • Work respectfully with architects, contractors, and other clients and employees in our office, at a client’s office or in the field.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on structures from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Strong understanding of design codes and regulations for buildings and towers.
  • Strong understanding of steel, concrete, and wood design principles.
  • U.S. citizen or legally able to work in the United States.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, with a high level of self‑motivation and productivity.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of building design experience.
