In this role, you will be a key part of the Building Structures team and report to the discipline Directors. Preferred locations include Chicago, St. Louis, Columbus, Atlanta, Dallas, and Bedminster, with other locations available for qualified candidates.

The Building Structures team executes projects throughout the United States and several U.S. Territories, with opportunities to support non‑U.S. based teams.

• Assist less experienced staff with all aspects of design, drawing development, and construction administration.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and quality control procedures.
• Self‑perform and/or assist others at any project stage from schematic design through construction administration.
• Conduct calculations, sketches, drawing production, specifications, and multi‑discipline coordination regularly.
• Observe and evaluate existing conditions in the field and via historical drawings.
• Work on multiple projects concurrently, coordinating with multiple EXP offices and outside consultants.
• Occasional short‑term travel to project sites, usually a single night or two at a time.

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred; a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is the minimum requirement.
• 12+ years of experience focused on building design.
• Solid understanding of structural analysis software such as RAM, RISA, and ETABS.
• Adequate Revit skills, navigation, modeling, and sheet creation.
• Licensure as a Structural Engineer with required examinations (Structural I/II, Structural Gravity/Lateral).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasively and convey technical subject matter concisely.

The base pay range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on factors such as skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
