Key Responsibilities- Work with licensed design professionals to assist with the design and preparation of public and private development projects, including commercial, industrial, residential, energy, water/waste water and community projects throughout the Midwest.
- Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of service sectors including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction and more.
- Perform and check design calculations and prepare design packages.
- Prepare front-end feasibility documents, due diligence reports, zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans.
- Practical experience in design and plan preparation of site development projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related engineering field.
- EI certification in the state of Ohio, with the ability to obtain PE or PLA certification within 6 to 12 months.
- Experience researching and applying agency design standards to civil engineering projects to achieve approvals.
- Ability to apply guidelines and specifications (e.g., City of Columbus, surrounding counties, ODOT, etc.).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading and pipe networks as well as plan set preparation.
- Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports is preferred.
- Roadway design and survey experience are a plus.
- Utility design or utility field inspection experience is a plus.
- Ability to engage review agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is critical.
