Traveling MEP Coordinator

We are currently searching for an experienced MEP (BIM) Coordinator for our mission critical team.
This position can be based anywhere in the US with access to a major airport and will work both remotely and travel to job sites.

The MEP Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in either mechanical or electrical systems and proven experience in subcontracting, engineering, or general contracting environments.
Experience with data center construction is preferred.

You’ll collaborate with project managers, design teams, and trade partners to ensure all systems are fully coordinated, industry‑compliant, and aligned with budgets and schedules. Success in this role requires deep technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and hands‑on experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk tools.

Pre‑Construction Phase:
Fully remote

Construction Phase:
Onsite required 3-4 days every 2-3 weeks. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.

• Lead MEP coordination using BIM/Virtual Construction tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
• Drive system integration by resolving clashes, facilitating design reviews and collaborating across teams.
• Conduct BIM clash detection and resolution to optimize MEP layouts
• Oversee project schedules, design build budgets, and documentation for all MEP scopes.
• Manage bid processes, develop scope sheets for MEP systems, and evaluate trade partner deliverables.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on MEP and BIM‑related issues.
• Facilitate regular coordination meetings with project stakeholders and develop presentations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Oversee and coordinate the start‑up and commissioning process, including participation in planning and execution.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent trade experience.
• 3+ years of MEP coordination experience, ideally on mission‑critical/data center projects.
• Advanced skills in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD; exposure to BIM 360 or ACC a plus.
• Strong understanding of MEP system installation and sequencing.
• Experience with commissioning and turnover of large‑scale MEP systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
