The OpportunityThe Supplier Development Engineer (Electronics) is responsible for managing and improving the performance, quality, and capability of ADB SAFEGATE’s supplier base proactively. Ensure supplier quality support during the design and development of new products through active early engagement in the Product Development Process (PDP).
You will make an impact by….- Actively engage during the ADB Safegate Product Development Process (PDP).
- Conduct new supplier & location assessments and audits, with strong engagement during supplier selection and sourcing process.
- Responsible for PCBA, Modules, Electronics & Electromechanical Components.
- Lead APQP and PPAP activities with suppliers for new products & engineering changes.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to address future component technologies and roadmaps in our Supplier Development programs.
- Support the change management process to properly risk‑assess and qualify any changes proposed by suppliers.
- Actively engage suppliers in design and engineering reviews.
- Lead design reviews and manufacturing feasibility assessments with internal cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
- Review and approve supplier Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plans, ensuring key product and process characteristics are covered.
- Identify and mitigate risks in supplier manufacturing processes to ensure flawless launch.
- Analyze pre‑launch supplier data and proactively drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Support resolution of complex quality concerns from root‑cause analysis to identification of corrective & preventive actions.
- Conduct training and workshops for suppliers on quality tools and techniques to ensure they meet ADB Safegate and Customer Requirements.
- Be able to travel approximately 30% domestically or internationally to visit suppliers and conduct audits & on‑site assessments.
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5‑8 years of experience in supplier quality or development engineering.
- Strong background in working with PCBA, Modules, Electromechanical, & Electronics components.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA and 8D Methodology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
- Experience with quality control methodologies: 6 Sigma, QC tools, 8D methodology.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified ISO
9001/IATF
16949 Lead Auditor. - Professional knowledge of products and systems used in aviation or airport industry.
- Professional knowledge of relevant international and national standards (FAA, ICAO, etc.).
- Fluency in English is mandatory; other languages are an asset.
