Design Technician – Electric Distribution Systems

As a Design Technician, you’ll provide support for electric utilities (distribution systems) design projects under the electric programs team. This is a hybrid role, with about 30% of time in office or on‑site in the Columbus area, and occasionally expanded range in OH. This is a non‑Engineer fielding role, which will require occasional travel to client sites primarily in the Columbus area, occasionally in other areas of OH.

The Design Field Technician is responsible for working independently to gather detailed information on utility poles. Approximately 30% of time will be spent in field, and this will vary. As a Design Field Technician, a typical day may include the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Computer skills
• Must have valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle and willingness to travel as needed for fielding requirements (mileage reimbursement applies)

• Advanced Degree in Technical related field
• Design skills including AutoCAD or Microstation
• Experience working in Electric Distribution/Utilities environment

• This position pays between $20.00 – $24.00 per hour and is a non‑exempt position.
• Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match.
