Location:

Columbus, OH (and Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Toledo)

Full-Time

• Perform field observation and documentation of contractor activities for compliance with contract requirements.
• Prepare thorough Daily Work Reports (DWRs) detailing work status, item postings, materials associations, and jobsite conditions.
• Complete and submit required calculations, sketches, and forms per ODOT specifications.
• Verify construction adherence to contract requirements and communicate non‑compliance issues to senior staff.
• Assist with requests for information and serve as liaison between contractors and senior technicians/engineers.
• Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, technicians, survey staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to ensure proper execution of project designs.

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, concrete technology, or equivalent experience.
• Completion of ODOT Certified Technician program or a Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• 2+ years of related experience in construction inspection.
• Familiarity with ODOT construction specifications and field experience.
• Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction inspection/testing.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Technologist, NICET highway construction inspection, ICC Special Inspections, CWI/NDT.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Plan Grid, and digital inspection platforms (AASHTOWare, Appia).
• Experience with survey equipment including GPS or Arrow Systems is a plus.
