EHS ENGINEER – AUTOMOTIVE

Join a growing automotive manufacturer where you’ll play a key role in driving environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example, and improving safety systems through hands‑on engagement and data‑driven action.

You’ll develop and implement programs that improve compliance, reduce risk, and strengthen safety culture. This is a high‑visibility position where you’ll collaborate with all departments to ensure employees go home safe every day — while helping move the organization toward world‑class EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead facility EHS programs to ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and automotive industry standards.
  • Develop and manage training programs, audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee hazardous waste management, air/water permitting, and emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic evaluations to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Support sustainability, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance to improve machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and PPE compliance.
  • Maintain and report EHS metrics, incidents, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, or a related Engineering field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of EHS experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 systems preferred.
  • Hands‑on approach with strong communication and coaching skills.
  • CSP or other EHS certification preferred but not required.

This role is being advertised in larger cities for confidentiality purposes, however, it may not be the exact location of the actual facility.
