About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join their offshore operations team based in George . This role is critical for the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea pipeline systems essential for energy transportation. You will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of offshore infrastructure, working on projects that span the entire lifecycle of subsea assets.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to significant projects within South Africa's growing energy industry , combining technical expertise with hands-on project involvement.
- Design and analyze subsea pipeline routes, considering factors such as seabed conditions, environmental loads, and installation methods.
- Develop specifications for materials, fabrication, and installation of subsea systems, including risers, umbilicals, and associated structures.
- Oversee third-party contractors during fabrication, transportation, and installation phases to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
- Conduct integrity management assessments, including corrosion control, fatigue analysis, and inspection planning for existing pipelines.
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and participate in design reviews and HAZID/HAZOP studies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in subsea pipeline engineering or offshore construction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API).
- Experience with pipeline design software and FEA tools is highly desirable.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, including offshore site visits.
