Senior Project Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Generation Project Engineer at the Senior or Principal level to support large-scale utility generation capital projects. The role supports projects including natural gas plants, combined cycle facilities, renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, and major retrofits
.

This person will act as an engineering lead and technical coordinator
, working across internal engineering teams, EPC contractors, developers, OEMs, consultants, and project stakeholders. The focus is on engineering leadership, project execution, communication, and issue resolution
, rather than hands-on design.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
• 4+ years engineering experience for Senior Engineer or 8+ years for Principal Engineer
• Large capital project experience across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts
• Ability to review design packages, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables
• Experience leading design reviews and RFI management
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with contractors, consultants, vendors, and engineering teams
• Strong communication, organization, and technical problem-solving skills
• Preferred:
  PE license, power generation, natural gas/CCGT, utility, EPC, Owner’s Engineer, solar, wind, or BESS experience

• Lead engineering efforts on large, utility-scale capital projects
• Exposure to a diverse generation portfolio spanning natural gas, CCGT, renewables, and battery storage
• High-visibility role working directly with EPCs, OEMs, developers, consultants, and internal stakeholders
