OverviewEY is a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace and the only professional services firm with a separate business unit dedicated to the financial services industry – the Financial Services Organization (FSO). The FSO EDGE State and Local Tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of our clients.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Deliver tax compliance and consulting work for clients, identifying problem areas and escalations to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Analyze a portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
- Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients.
- Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
- Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice.
- Work with a motivated team of professionals.
- Build effective long‑term relationships with clients.
- Continuously update and share technical knowledge and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline, or a graduate degree in Tax or Law.
- Progress toward CPA or Enrolled Agent license.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization.
- Thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems and applicable laws.
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous learning.
- In-depth knowledge of state and local partnership tax.
- Proficiency in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with return preparation software.
- Experience working in diverse teams.
- Ability to adapt work style to internal and client team members.

What We Offer You- Competitive compensation and benefits package: base salary range $81,900 to $135,100 (or $98,400 to $153,600 for NY, WA, CA). Benefits include medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
- Hybrid work model: 40–60% on‑site for client‑serving roles.
