What You’ll Do
  • Develop a deep understanding of actuarial methodologies and data manipulation techniques.
  • Conduct rigorous analyses, adhering to actuarial standards, to develop insightful recommendations.
  • Document assumptions, methods, and sources in a clear and organized manner.
  • Prepare actuarial findings and documents suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and meet deadlines.
  • Build strong business relationships across property and casualty multi-channel finance.
Team Structure

This position reports to an Actuarial leader and is part of a team focused on umbrella pricing across multiple business units—Commercial Lines, Agribusiness, and Excess & Surplus. There will be many opportunities to build your foundation of actuarial knowledge through various projects related to rate level indications and risk segmentation. In addition, you’ll collaborate with a diverse group of professionals—underwriting, finance, product, actuarial—to contribute to a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Continuously improve your skills and knowledge through ongoing training and development.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field.
  • Have passed two or more actuarial exams.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products, analytical software, and programming languages such as SQL, R, and Python.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Work Arrangements
  • This role will work on a hybrid schedule, with 2 days per week at one of our office locations in Columbus, OH, or Des Moines, IA. Relocation assistance may be provided.
