The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager plays a critical role in the success of the Lou Fusz Automotive Network by helping customers complete their vehicle purchase while providing an exceptional, transparent, and professional financing experience.
The F&I Manager is responsible for securing financing, presenting finance and protection products, completing accurate contracts and documentation, maintaining strong lender relationships, and ensuring every transaction complies with dealership policies and applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate combines strong sales ability with attention to detail, financial knowledge, integrity, and a customer-first mindset. Success in this role means maximizing dealership profitability while ensuring every customer is treated fairly, professionally, and respectfully.
Key Responsibilities Finance & Customer Experience- Meet with customers following the vehicle selection and sales process to review financing and payment options.
- Obtain and accurately process credit applications and supporting documentation.
- Submit financing applications to appropriate lending institutions and work to secure competitive approvals.
- Clearly explain financing terms, interest rates, payment options, and contractual obligations to customers.
- Structure deals appropriately based on customer needs, lender requirements, and dealership objectives.
- Maintain a professional, efficient, and customer-focused F&I process from introduction through contract completion.
- Professionally present available finance and protection products based on customer needs.
- Explain the features, benefits, costs, limitations, and coverage of applicable products.
- Generate appropriate F&I revenue while maintaining a transparent, consultative approach.
- Work toward dealership-established performance goals, including:
- F&I gross profit per retail unit
- Product penetration
- Service contract penetration
- GAP/product penetration
- Finance penetration
- Customer satisfaction
- Consistently look for opportunities to improve F&I performance without compromising customer trust or compliance.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with banks, credit unions, captive finance companies, and other approved lenders.
- Understand lender programs, guidelines, approval criteria, and documentation requirements.
- Negotiate effectively with lenders when appropriate to obtain financing solutions for customers.
- Monitor contracts in transit and assist in resolving funding delays, documentation issues, or lender stipulations.
- Ensure deals are funded accurately and promptly.
- Ensure all contracts and required documents are accurate, complete, and properly executed before delivery.
- Maintain strict compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, lender requirements, and dealership policies.
- Safeguard confidential customer and financial information.
- Follow dealership procedures regarding credit applications, identity verification, disclosures, privacy, document retention, and deal jackets.
- Work closely with accounting and management to resolve contract discrepancies, funding issues, chargebacks, or missing documentation.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and organization in all F&I transactions.
- Partner closely with Sales Managers and Sales Consultants to create a smooth transition from vehicle selection to financing and delivery.
- Assist the sales team in understanding current lender programs, finance options, and F&I products.
- Communicate professionally with customers, lenders, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Support dealership and network goals while contributing to a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture.
- Participate in ongoing training to remain current on products, lender programs, compliance requirements, and automotive finance best practices.
