Purpose of Position

The State and Local Government & External Affairs Director seeks positive outcomes for Net Jets and its business interests through advocacy before legislative and regulatory bodies at the State and Local levels. This role will develop and implement strategies to advance our positions with legislators and regulators, government agencies and institutions, with a particular focus on State and Local Government.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Track and evaluate pending legislation and regulations that may impact Net Jets and the aviation industry; proactively work to advance Net Jets’s interests
  • Develop and execute strategies on legislative, policy, regulatory, and political issues affecting Net Jets
  • Respond to legislative and regulatory inquiries/needs at the state and local levels, and create opportunities to improve legislators’ and regulators’ understanding of Net Jets and its business
  • Represent Net Jets at political and industry events
  • Understand and articulate in a compelling way Net Jets’s position on key legislative and regulatory issues
  • Establish constructive and lasting relationships with elected and appointed officials at the state and local level, investing time and energy in prioritized networking activity
  • Prepare communications to key stakeholders (employees, public officials, etc.) about pertinent issues (legislation, Net Jets investment projects, business changes, etc.)
  • Apprise senior management of pertinent legislative and regulatory issues and other external factors that could affect the business
