Job OverviewThe Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking an audit professional to be part of our Bureau of Program Integrity. This position focuses on the prevention and detection of fraud, waste, and abuse. This position is in Franklin County and may require travel. As an External Auditor 2, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting audits and reviews of Medicaid enrolled providers for compliance with federal and state requirements in the fight against fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Handling routine audit issues, preparing audit reports and working papers (e.g., gathering information; performing review and analysis of records, operations, activities, controls & systems or applying auditing standards & principles).
- Acting as audit team lead in absence of higher level auditor when assigned.
- Assisting in preparing necessary work papers, related audit materials, and preliminary draft and final audit/review reports to summarize activities, findings and recommendations to improve or resolve deficiencies or compliance.
- Working primarily with compliance and performance audits with a focus on healthcare.

Qualifications- Completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting, business administration, computer science or related field; 24 months in auditing or accounting which must have included 12 months auditing experience in accordance with auditing standards or in accordance with prescribed management policies & procedures as specified on agency position description.
- Or 4 years in auditing or accounting which must have included 2 years auditing experience in accordance with auditing standards or in accordance with prescribed management policies & procedures as specified on agency position description.
