The Senior Radiation Therapist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Oncology. The primary purpose is to perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures, delivering X‑ray and radioactive treatments for simulation and therapeutic purposes. Responsibilities include accurate delivery of prescribed radiation plans, quality assessment activities, education, training, and oversight of radiation therapy students, as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager.
PositionSummary
The Senior Radiation Therapist assists in treatment planning, maintains standards set by the Radiation Oncologist, monitors patients for reactions, enforces radiation safety, provides patient education, and engages in clinical education and research projects. The role also includes performing quality assessment activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology.
Minimum Qualifications- 2‑Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy.
- 2+ years of Radiation Therapy experience.
Ongoing requirements:
Maintains mandatory education and health surveillance, demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills, and maintains registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Ohio Department of Health.
