CompensationEstimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990, based on experience and qualifications (for 36 hours per week)
Key Job Details – Ohio Nursing Jobs- Location:
Columbus, OH 43210 - Unit: 12 East and West Surgical Oncology - PCU (Mixed Acuity: PCU & Med Surg)
- Assignment Length: 13-19 weeks (Manager preference for end dates: 1/10, 1/17, or 1/24)
- Shifts:
3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00-19:30, Night: 19:00-07:30) - Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date:
10/6/2025 - Patient Ratios:
Goal 1:4, may be 1:5 - Orientation: 1 week Mon-Fri dayshift, followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor
- Self-Scheduling:
Submit preferred schedule requests prior to final posting - Float:
May float to other acute care oncology units as needed
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at submission)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (ONS Chemo preferred)
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex surgical oncology diagnoses (breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics, ortho, and cardio-thoracic surgery)
- Manage PCU and Med Surg acuity patients in a busy surgical floor environment
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips
- Respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
- Perform chest tube care and tracheostomy management
- Utilize B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and focus on patient fall prevention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
- Float to other acute care oncology units as needed
