How You’ll Contribute

The Risk Management and Quality Director directs the department’s activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.

Essential Functions
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Additional Information:
    Position serves both internal co‑workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
