Post Doctoral Scholar – Physiology & Cell Biology

Responsibilities:
Post-Doctoral Scholar to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of mRNA metabolisms and centrosome biology during cell division and neurodevelopment; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as by other agencies;
identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; trains junior lab members, attends research seminars; contributes to poster presentation, manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in a biological or health sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in molecular biology techniques, cell signaling pathways and prior training in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology is strongly preferred; scientific publication record desired.
