The Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry seeks a Patient Revenue Cycle Senior Coordinator to join its Patient Revenue Cycle Services team. This full‑time, on‑site position reports to the Manager of Patient Financial Services and provides support for registration and daily financial operations, helping to support the clinic’s teams. The role is based in Postle Hall (0024) and is a key function in the health care delivery system.
Responsibilities- Serve patients by verifying insurance coverages and pre‑authorizations.
- Perform cashier and collections functions, including processing patient payments.
- Answer and assist with incoming calls.
- Register, schedule, and greet patients.
- Verify and interpret insurance coverage details.
- Act as a liaison between doctors, patients, and payers.
- Support daily financial operations as required by clinic needs.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted.
Required: Two years’ experience in customer service or communications, with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, computer operation, and information research.
Desired: 4–6 years’ experience in direct customer service, preferably in a healthcare or dental/medical office setting; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); data entry experience; familiarity with basic office equipment (fax, copier, printer, laminator); strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
Physical RequirementsWork is performed primarily in an office environment, requiring sustained periods using a keyboard and reviewing documents in hard copy and electronic formats. The role requires sufficient personal mobility and reflexes suitable for a general office setting.
HoursMonday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (40 hours per week, first shift)
Compensation$18.37 – $23.99 per hour, based on experience.
