Ophthalmic Assistant – Eye Clinic at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Supports the patient care functions of the Eye Clinic, performing tests and assisting procedures under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, or RN Clinic Leader.
OverviewFull-time, benefits eligible role. Mon-Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Essential Functions- Tests visual acuity, stereo vision, and color vision. Conducts visual field testing using both the Goldman Perimeter and Humphrey Visual Fields Analyzer.
- Evaluates ocular anatomy, ocular motility and papillary responses. Assists physicians with exams and procedures as needed.
- Performs autorefraction and ophthalmic photography for both external and fundus photos.
- Accurately records information in electronic medical record according to established standards and physician’s requirements.
- Maintains and cleans ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Provides instruction to patients and caregivers as directed by the physician.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement(not specified)
CertificationsCertified Ophthalmic Assistant within one year of hire, required.
