Advanced Practice Provider Lead (NP/PA) – Rotational Surgical Intensive Care (SICU)

Scope of Position

The Advanced Practice Provider Lead works with APP and Division leadership, serving as liaison, oversight, and mentor for other advanced practice providers. Administrative and reporting responsibilities are per department expectations. The Lead interacts with the division workforce on issues related to APRNs and PAs, and is designated expert in the division.

The APP Lead provides clinical and day‑to‑day leadership and mentoring for APRNs or PAs, serving as the liaison between these clinicians and upper‑level advanced practice management (APP Manager and APP Director).

The APP Lead is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of the medical staff. The Lead collaborates with physicians and other clinicians to give a full scope of patient care, focusing on preventive health or management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions.

Position Summary

Provide health care services to patients in collaboration with a licensed physician. Services include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, counseling, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other providers and community resources when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio
• Graduate of an APRN program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing
• Master of Science Degree in Nursing

OR

• Graduate of a PA‑C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA‑C

Experience

• 2 Years Of APP Experience Required
• Preferred: 2 years of critical care experience
