Job Description SummaryThis is an on‑site position located in Columbus, Ohio.
Summary and Purpose of PositionPsychometrists are responsible for the administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests under the direct supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist. Neuropsychological testing primarily involves the administration and scoring of paper‑and‑pencil cognitive tests (e.g., tests of memory, attention, language, problem solving) and mental health questionnaires. Additionally, the psychometrist notes behavioral observations during the assessment that may be used by the neuropsychologist to aid in test interpretation.
The psychometrist may also be responsible for collecting demographic information from a patient as well as other tasks, as assigned.
Our patient population consists of adults of all ages (18‑90+) with neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions. The most common referral diagnoses include neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias), movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease), epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. Patients often also have comorbid psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety).
The ideal candidate for this position will be detail‑oriented, conscientious, efficient, flexible, and will enjoy working within a collaborative team. They should be able to quickly learn and become independent on administration and scoring procedures for neuropsychological testing, and will be committed to providing a high standard of patient care. Previous clinical experience is strongly preferred but not required. Previous relevant experience, coursework, or clinical training is strongly preferred.

Major Duties/Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsAdministers and scores neuropsychological and psychological tests.
Scores tests administered by neuropsychologist/psychologist.
Provides written documentation of the patient’s behavior during testing.
Participates in establishing job requirements and goals and performs duties at the desired level of competency.
Reviews and ensures timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of patient information, test scores, and testing materials.
Complies with Infection Control and Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field (e.g., social sciences) from an accredited college or university. Prefer candidates with significant coursework and/or supplemental professional experience in psychology (e.g., 12 semester hours in psychology).
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- College‑level math/statistics skills required.
- English language proficiency required.
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of people and demonstrate good judgment, self‑directed learning, organizational skills, efficient typing and writing, teaching skills, and clinical skills (assets). Must communicate quickly and articulately in writing and verbally at levels appropriate for patient interactions, staff interactions, and with neuropsychologists.
- Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- One year of cognitive assessment/technical psychometric work (i.e., clinical services, training, and/or research) under the supervision of a psychologist/neuropsychologist or one full year of graduate study in psychology (or related area of study) with exposure to cognitive assessment and/or coursework.
