Job Overview
The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and Director of Ambulatory Rehabilitation, the therapy aide is a team member responsible for assisting staff physical and occupational therapists in their treatment of assigned patients. All patient care duties performed require supervision by a therapist.
The therapy aide is a member of the Ambulatory Rehabilitation department and an important assistive component of the interdisciplinary medical team that strives to return the patient to his or her highest level of functional independence.
Assist in treatment of patients on assigned rotations, and provide cross coverage of the Rehabilitation division’s other locations and sites (Acute, Dodd Acute Inpatient, Outpatient Clinics) as needed. Perform routine operations of the rehabilitation department, including department cleanliness, monitoring of equipment and supply inventories, maintenance, and patient transportation.
MinimumRequired Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- 0 years of relevant experience required; 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Per Civil Service Requirements, within 6 months of hire obtain American Heart Association Friends and Family emergency recognition or BLS certification.
