West Coast Ambulance is looking for a qualified EMS Field Supervisor to complete our team!
Summary/Objective:Under the direction of the EMS Manager and/or General Manager, the EMS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations. This position will provide mentoring, coaching, disciplining the field staff, ensuring company policies and protocols are met and aligned with local and state regulations that pertain to EMS. Additionally, ensuring that customer service, patient care, and efficiency are delivered. Focus must always be directed to the customers and stakeholders of West Coast Ambulance and support company goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Actively oversees daily operations and is a resource to field employees
- Conduct daily/weekly audit to field employees on performance
- Conduct training and orientation for new hires
- Keeping up to date with state and local EMS guidelines
- Proactively thinking of new ideas to improve operations
- Keeping field staff engaged, provides guidance and direction as appropriate
- Work collaboratively with dispatch and other departments to ensure company goals are met
- Serves as a role model to field staff – acts professionally, treats patient with respect and dignity
- Set goals for field staff to ensure efficiency, productivity and quality in daily operations. This may require reporting on metrics on team performance
- May participate in selection and interviewing process
- Audit time cards and ensure that payroll reports are submitted in a timely manner
- Attend management meetings and is able to create agenda, make presentations
- Assist and may need to perform calls when staffing is inadequate
- All other tasks assigned by management
- Demonstrated background of successful customer service experience
- Ability to problem solve and make sound judgments that will not compromise quality of patient care and company resources
- Strong work ethic
- Minimum of three years emergency medical operations or similar experience
- Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively with frequent interruptions while completing tasks in a timely fashion
- Excellent interpersonal skills, friendly demeanor and must be approachable. You lead with integrity
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or appropriate field of study or equivalent experience preferred
- A valid California driver's license
- Current California Paramedic or EMT license recommended
- CPR Instructor highly recommended
- Current Medical Examiners Certification
- NREMT and other certifications as required
- One year of experience in the field of rescue and emergency medical services highly recommended
- Infection Control Training highly recommended
