Provides full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery encompassing basic and comprehensive audiological assessments, evaluation and fitting of hearing systems; including traditional hearing aids, bone anchored instruments, cochlear implant systems and collaboration with medical specialists about audio logic manifestations of ear disease; conducts physiologic, electrophysiologic and behavioral assessments of auditory sensitivity for in‑ and out‑patients;

vestibular testing; serves as expert in acoustic, electroacoustic and physical characteristics of amplification systems in geriatric, pediatric and difficult to test populations, including developmentally disabled and inmates; supervises and participates in consultation with patients, administration of diagnostic testing and development of treatment and therapy programs for patients in conjunction with physicians; evaluates and assists in determination of candidacy for cochlear implantation;

provides interoperative testing of internal cochlear implant devices; serves as expert in programming and fitting external cochlear implant speech-processing devices; serves in advisory role to general practice physicians for audiological manifestations of ear disease and non‑medical treatment options; participates and maintains hearing conservation and ototoxic monitoring programs; communicates hearing services information to public by implementing hearing health programs; actively participates in training and education of residents, fellows, medical students and audiology students.

Master’s degree in Audiology or Clinical doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Licensure by the Ohio Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology required; certification or certification eligibility by ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) or ABA (American Board of Audiology) required; experience as a staff audiologist strongly desired.

Requires successful completion of a background check.
