Job Description SummaryThis position is responsible for overseeing the processes of the department on a daily basis and to ensure effective operations.
Responsibilities And Duties- Supervision – 50%+ of time. Supervises office staff including registration, clerical, administrative, unit coordinator, etc.
- Manages workflow and delegates duties.
- Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to staff to help them reach potential.
- Trains new office staff.
- Assists manager with daily operational needs as required.
- Attends meetings in absence of manager.
- Acts as resource and/or escalation point for staff, physicians, employees and managers.
- Oversees time sheets/payroll if not maintaining/processing them.
- Coordinates and assists with office staff functions such as scheduling patient appointments, physician coverage, answering phones, completing patient intakes, calling to confirm appointments, and entering daily patient charges.
- May have responsibility for maintaining a database, projects or programs on an ongoing basis.
- May be responsible for report generation.
- Performs miscellaneous other duties as requested.
- High School or GED (Required).
- Field of Study:
High school. - Years of experience: 1 to 6.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- 1–2 years related experience as Team Leader or supervisor; 6 years progressive, related experience, preferably in a medical setting.
