Senior Director for Food and Nutrition Services
Scope of PositionThe Senior Director is the senior leader responsible for the development and implementation of the vision and strategic direction for process improvement, compliance, quality and safety measures, innovation, and overall operations across the hospitals and ambulatory settings. This role oversees a budget of $32M and more than 330 employees and is accountable for researching, designing, and implementing initiatives and programs that improve the experience of patients, guests, and staff.
PositionSummary
Provides strategic leadership for all aspects related to food, nutrition, and hospitality retail operations across the health system, including patient food services, clinical nutrition, retail cafeterias, gift shops, catering, culinary medicine programs, and subcontracted food and beverage vendors. The Senior Director develops cohesive leadership teams that advance strategic priorities, elevate patient and customer experience, meet regulatory and safety standards, and operate within health‑system business objectives.
Responsibilities include promoting teamwork, partnering with stakeholders to design and implement programs, applying industry best practices, planning and executing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of relevant food‑service and/or nutrition care experience required, with at least 5 years of healthcare food‑service leadership. Ohio Registered Licensed Dietitian (RDN‑LD) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) required or within one year of hire. Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification in Food Protection required within 6 months of hire.
