Job Title: Middleware Admin (Websphere/Tomcat/Apache)
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: Full-Time
The candidate should have experience working in a multi-team operation model. The person should also have experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting middleware products such as IBM Web Sphere, Apache Tomcat, and CA Siteminder, with a minimum of 5+ years supporting high-availability enterprise web applications.
The candidate will be part of a team providing 24/7 support for the platform, performing duties according to JPMC standards regarding engagement, change management, and escalations. Interaction with vendors and handling root cause analysis and incident reports will be required. The candidate will have broad platform responsibilities as needed and expected from operations team members.
Job
Responsibilities include:
- Assist junior engineers with application-related questions
- Build environments to specifications
- Proactive system monitoring, real-time responses, and performance tuning
- Build RPMs on Linux OS
- Perform root cause and system log analysis
- Maintain operational support and documentation
- Research trouble tickets, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
- Manage multiple initiatives outside daily activities
- Provide 24/7 application support for production and lower environments
- Report issues, risks, and status updates effectively
- Create documentation using WIKI 3.0
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with middleware technologies such as IBM Web Sphere, Apache/Tomcat, Siteminder
- System performance tuning and monitoring
- Familiarity with HP Pro Liant servers, including DL 380 (G7 and G8)
- Experience with trouble ticket research and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Symantec ESM 6.5
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and collaboration skills
- College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
