Responsibilities
  • Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of senior data engineers and database experts working on complex, high-volume data integration and transformation projects.
  • Accountable for decisions that influence team resources and the execution of data engineering strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and data governance standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in AI and Generative AI, evaluating new tools and techniques for potential adoption.
  • Guide teams in the design, development, and optimization of robust ETL pipelines, data workflows, and database solutions to support analytics and AI initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proactively identify and resolve team conflicts and operational issues, escalating as necessary to ensure project success and team well‑being.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, including analytics and AI teams, to enable data‑driven decision‑making and support new use cases.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and Generative AI technologies to enhance data engineering solutions and drive business value.
  • Oversee the implementation of best practices in data quality, data governance, and operational monitoring for large‑scale data environments.
  • Champion Agile and Dev Ops methodologies to accelerate the development and deployment of data solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Management, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading senior technical teams.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent field.
  • Proven ability to understand, interpret, and work with complex data models.
  • Deep expertise in designing, building, and optimizing ETL pipelines, data workflows, and large‑scale database solutions (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre

  • Strong experience with big data technologies (Spark, Databricks) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands‑on experience with AI and machine learning concepts, including practical exposure to Generative AI technologies (such as large language models, generative adversarial networks, or similar).
  • Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing high‑performing teams, including conflict resolution and talent development.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with data intensive SDLC tools such as Jira, Bitbucket etc. with a deep understanding the complex data models.
  • Experience with cloud‑based monitoring and operations tools (e.g., Data Dog, Splunk, Grafana).
  • Experience working at code level and with modern infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins).
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
