Director, Technology Product Manager; Cloud Platform

This is a critical role on the Core Infrastructure team focused on enabling modern application architectures to take advantage of public Cloud providers (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)). The ideal leader has a passion for Cloud technologies, loves to learn, and is ready to make an impact. Ideal candidates will have experience leading teams and large infrastructure services and have a broad understanding of infrastructure and the ability to align delivery to consumer needs. This is a great opportunity to build a critical component of cloud architecture that supports all areas of the enterprise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead a team of approximately 15 engineers
• Support Cloud Future capability enablement (GEN AI and Serverless)
• Create a roadmap for cloud product enhancements and features
• Technical Excellence:
  Partner with vendor(s) to bring knowledge to Nationwide and keep up with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
• Administration and maintenance:
  Oversee day-to-day management and maintenance of cloud platforms
• Operational efficiency through resiliency and reliability, improved documentation,securing cloud platform(s), strengthening observability practices, implementing proactive monitoring for our cloud services
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish a strategic vision for the cloud platform aligned with the organization’s overall business goals
• Partner with Procurement and technology leaders on external vendor relationship management/negotiations on major investments in cloud spend
• Identify and mitigate risks related to the platform
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Collaborate with business units, understand their needs, and translate them into platform capabilities

This position will be a hybrid role located in Columbus, OH and will report to an AVP.

The Technology Product Manager directs a team of infrastructure engineers involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of hardware/software. You’re primarily responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget and are integrated with other systems hardware/software. You’ll also have opportunities to generate hardware/software systems engineering policies, standards and procedures. Leading people – including determining project deployment, career development, performance management and pay determination – are key to this role.

You’ll also mentor associates who are not your core team members.

• Directs a staff responsible for driving acompetitive unit cost throughefficientproduct. lifecycle,capacity management,expense management and increasing value of the product.
• Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Accountable for their team’s knowledge and deep understanding of business domains, industry trends and how the product(s) compare and compete.
• Links ideation, new product development and introduction to business outcomes.
