PositionSummary
As an Applications Developer in our Columbus office, you will build and manage the firm’s custom application environments, including Microsoft Power Apps, SharePoint, and other relevant platforms. Working with IT peers and business customers, you design and implement solutions for collaboration, workflow automation, and information management while maintaining a secure and segregated development architecture. A collaborative and detail-oriented mindset with a strong understanding of UI/UX principles is essential.
PositionResponsibilities
- Build solutions within M365 and Azure environments that include workflow, process automation, forms, role‑based rights management, and dashboard/reporting needs.
- Design and develop applications within the M365 and Azure ecosystems of SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Maintain existing custom applications and solutions through periodic lifecycle and release management of updated versions.
- Manage backlog of requests for changes to existing solutions and use backlog to create regular version releases of new features and fixes.
- Act as technical lead for any Power App or SharePoint process improvement initiatives to eliminate system complexities, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency.
- Maintain strong partnerships with key business and technical stakeholders, including attorneys, administrative staff, and professional teams, to understand business needs, strategies, and priorities.
- Ensure end‑user satisfaction by translating business needs into IT deliverables and maintaining open lines of communication throughout projects.
- Support the firm’s change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems, tools, or processes.
- Assist in creating user training materials and conducting training sessions for end users and technical teams.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s key applications, including legal practice management systems, document management systems, time‑keeping tools, and collaboration platforms.
- Maintain standard operating procedures, user manuals, and documentation for application systems and workflows.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into bespoke innovative application solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management principles.
- Proactive, customer‑oriented mindset with a focus on driving solutions and achieving results.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and build consensus among diverse teams.
- Experience in change management, particularly in implementing new systems or processes.
The Application Developer should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in similar business/industry roles. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a SharePoint or Power App developer is required. Experience using Azure Dev Ops, Power Apps and Power Automate is required. Experience using Git Hub, Nintex, Fliplet, and HighQ is ideal but not required.
Familiarity with full‑service law firm technologies and processes is a plus. Microsoft Power Platform certification will be considered.
