Racksquared, a division of Wasserstrom, is a data center hosting leader, providing hosting, cloud, storage and disaster recovery solutions. We currently have an opening for a Part Time Weekend Shift Data Center Operator located in our Data Center in Downtown Columbus, OH.

The Data Center Operator will be part of a 24/7 team supporting the data center operations and will be responsible for monitoring and validating system alerts, following standard operating procedures and check lists. This is an entry-level position and would be a good learning experience for anyone pursuing an education or career in Information Technology.

Essential Duties and

Responsibilities Include:

• Monitors production websites and related systems.
• Monitors production servers such as IBM I-Series, AIX, Windows and Linux.
• Monitors for alerts and responds by following company standard operating procedures.
• Maintains company tape library and changes tapes as necessary.
• Monitors backups for completion.
• Completes hourly checklists.
• Monitors data center security systems.
• Creates help desk tickets for customers and escalates issues as needed.
• Check in of data center customers third party service companies following standard operating procedures.

Applicants must be proficient with MS Office Applications and have experience with a Service Desk or Trouble‑Ticketing Software. Must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail. Must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a team player.
